The Factory Smith & Wesson letter shows that this Smith & Wesson Pre Model 21 in the RARE 6 1/2 Inch Barrel length Serial number S-106,961 Was shipped January 6, 1955 to Headquarters U.S. Army Europe, APO 245 for European Post Exchange Store. This handgun was shipped with a 6.5 inch barrel, BRIGHT Blue Finish, and checkered walnut grips.. it has a finish of 98% Lustery blue. If the top of the front sight had not been scored, then I would have rated it at 99%. The grip has serial number 106,620. Perhaps the grip is a factory error as having such a close number would be near impossible. I put Gold on the front sight for Asthetics.
