Shipments sent to a FFL
dealer only on all guns. Shipping normally is $70 for pistols going 1st
day air ( no choice that's UPS policy on pistols), or $35 for pistols going US
mail. You are granted a 3 day inspection. Inspection begins upon date of
arrival to your dealer. Please remit via Cashiers check or Money Orders made
out to George Wimer, Personal checks require extra time to assure clearance
prior to shipment.
Rifles
& Shotguns are $25 for UPS Standard delivery.
VERY IMPORTANT: You must
send a copy of an FFL liscense for me to ship to your FFL Dealer. He may then
transfer the gun to you. I WILL UNDER NO CURCUMSTANCES SHIP A GUN TO AN
INDIVIDUAL; OR SHIP A FIREARM WITHOUT HAVING FIRST RECIEVED AN FFL COPY. Thank
you.

Inspection: Can I take it
appart?
Answer:NO! 1. The first thing to do
is decide if you like its looks. Given you do, then you've accepted its
appearence from the visual viewpoint. Should you wish to proceed to the next
level then call me first & we'll discuss your concerns.
In general, many of my guns are in near mint condition & there is no reason
what-so-ever for any screwdrivers or other impliments to be used to take apart
the gun. Many guns, such as Colt 45's, can be taken down by hand but remember
if you scratch it with the improper assembly or disassembly of it; you either
bought it or have devalued it, & subsequently your refund would be less. I
take thorough notes & pictures before these items leave the premises.
Do Not test my patience by attempting to curb the truth & claim the item
did not have certain parts or a different clip or no clip or a missing screw or
a cracked grip etc......Been there, done that,..That is why it takes time to
package & inspect. This makes it difficult to get out very many items per
day shipped out to the customer. I do & must critique, notate, xerox or
photograph items to protect myself from damage done by the persons who wrongly
disassembles items & or attempts to swap parts of guns. To the novice
this might seem impracticle or unthinkable; however; unfortunately I've
experienced this enough times to know better & have been forced to take
these precautions. There are those that have created this situation. They
won't get another chance with me. I appologize to the rest of you.
Most people ( I'll say 99% of you out there) understand, respect & use
common sense; but these things need to be pointed out for the other 1 %.
Normally if you buy a S&W, Colt, etc the average person will wish to verify
the matching numbers of the grip or grips. As long as you use a proper
screwdriver, do not burr or mark the screw head up, nor crack the grips upon
improper re-assembly of same then I don't mind this "BUT", there
is no reason to do this unless you've already decided to keep the
pistol. Also, Target grips are not numbered to at least S&W
grips, & only the right sided grip on S&W's is the grip that is
numbered. The left grip is never numbered, and early grips are numbered in
pencil, & pearls & stag grips are usually never numbered. Besides, all
you need to do is ask me if they are numbered to the gun when ordering &
you'll not have to be concerned as I've already taken the grips off to be sure
they are matching. Most of mine are matching grips anyways.
Question: How do you ship out
merchandise?
Answer: Various methods can be used, it is the
customers preference, though personal experience has indicated which would be
best in certain situations for me.
UPS
UPS shipping of longarms
is about $25. Second day Air nowadays is somewhere around $80.
UPS All pistols must be
shipped First day Air. No choice; that's UPS policy. To attempt to ship
otherwise VIA - UPS is seriously stupid. If a person tried to save
a little cash & ship 2nd day Air or slower & the pistol was lost or
damaged this gives UPS the advantage to say: "YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW
1ST AIR DAY ONLY POLICY" Therefore; your not able to
collect for the damage or the loss. This is not something I am willing to risk
so don't even attempt to ask for less than 1st day air VIA UPS delivery
of me. As of 2006 the insurance alone for UPS is 50 cents per $100. A
$5,000 gun cost $25 just for insurance.
My personally thinking is
this: If it's important enough to me then I'll choose UPS every time. If I'm
shipping & its a pistol of say $500 or so then USPS is fine. But,
if it has an important box or something that I want to risk the least
remote possibility of damage than I'd rather ship UPS as the post office
has what seems to be a larger amount of damage comparatively. Also, the
Post office doesn't have as good of a tracking system for the
shipper/caller like UPS does either. (In my opinion of course)
COD's
I will ship COD once I have the
signed FFL on file. I won't ship Air COD unless we've done business before.
Sorry I've been stung too many times buy those who've done this, changed their
minds & never reimbursed me for the shipping. It's the same old song. A few
duds have to spoil it for the rest. That's life!
COD's VIA
US-Mail...Sorry!.........no way! The US-Mail will take anything from a personal
check to--- (use your imagination here). I won't do COD's VIA US-Mail.
It's not a good business practice. Not if you wish to stay in the business that
is!
USPS
Otherwise known as The US Post
Office. I really don't care to ship long arms this way, as its usually
more expensive than UPS by the time you get though with the weight, &
insurance. But when it comes to shipping pistols you can save even more. A $500
or so dollar pistol that'd cost $60 via UPS should cost only about
$35 VIA the USPS/Mail system.
Regarding Priority mail: I've been through this many
times. Unfortunately, priority means that you can ship anything that will fit in
that size package & it will "likely- no guarantees" be
delivered in the guestimated 2 or 3 day time period. This is much like the
recruiter telling the young man all the benefits to joining the army. It sounds
good. , but isn't what you expected. My personal advise to everyone is send
it regular mail, registered if you wish. I've no problem signing for it.
As unbelievable as it is, I've had priority show up eleven, yes, even up to
14 days past the initial day sent. Even the postal clerk was in denial, but
the next day the proof was in my hands with date of delivery around 12 days
from day sent. This has improved over the past couple of years or so, but let
me put it this way. I Don't send anything priority mail unless time is not of
importance to me.
Layaways
Question:
How long are Layaways?. Generally 90 days, unless
otherwise agreed upon in correspondence.
Question:
Can I have more than one Layaway?.Yes
Question:
Can I switch from one item to another. No
Question:
If something happens can I cancel.Yes = See Restocking 15% Fee
Question:
How do I make my payments: 90 day Layaway = 4 equal payments
All layaways will be based on Four ( 4 )
equally divided payments unless otherwise agreed upon. Layaways are for
90 days from "Date of Order" unless otherwise agreed upon;--(Refer to
your Receipt with your 1st payment on it.) You should consider your layaway
final for these reasons: It is not fair to tie up items for 3 months
or longer & still expect to retain an inspection without a penalty Fee. I
hold these items for individuals & pass on immediate sales all the time.
Layaways are a service I provide to ease the financial payout of the customer. Layaways are not a
service to be abused
Restock
Fee = 15%. Anytime "During" the 90 day layaway period "&
Before" shipment you may cancel your order at a 15% Restocking Fee charge.
Once you receive it & if you decide you don't want it then a 15% Restocking
Fee plus shipping will be charged. If not agreeable then call immediately so I
can cancel your order & make it available again. The time involved in
holding your item is considerable. Should you decide to cancel at this time a
$20 charge for inconvenience (Paperwork, trips to the bank, lost sales, etc..)
to other potential customers will be deducted from your first payment
check.
No Alternating: Once an item is held on layaway it's permanent.
No Switching & Multiples:I "will" hold more than one item on layaway if you
want additional pieces. However: I can't hold a layaway item....turn down other customers,........then
be expected to switch to a different item in lieu of the first purchase.
If you have more than one item on layaway than a check / Money Order,
Must be paid separately on each item to simplify my bookkeeping. Once purchased
by me, it takes 2-3 weeks before the item is advertised. Hypothetically, if
sold on week #3 & held on layaway for 4 weeks then switched to a different
item It'd take an additional 3-4 weeks before being available for sale again.
This = 3 months! Obviously, no way to run a business. Delinquency: If a layaway
continues beyond the agreed time period (90 days unless otherwise stated) than
a 3% per month financing Fee of the Total purchase price will be applied.
Example: Model 70 Win. Price $1000 + 16
shipping std UPS.......... (This $16 UPS was calculated back in the 1990's)
ie:[my trucks engine blew up]........I can empathize.
ie:[we had a baby]........................Congratulations.
ie:[aunt Ethel passed away]........Sorry to hear this!
ie:[I lost my job]..............Stuff happens...that's life!
ie:[Dear George XYZ happened, I need more time"]
Say this example took [6]
six months = 3 months overdue. Then: 3% of $1,000 = $30 per month (X) 3
months = $90 Overdue Extra Charge Fee. =1,000 + 16 shipping + 90 overdue fee
charge =1,106 Total.
I realize you understand this, but someone
out there won't; so; I've got to spell it out real clear for all. Layaways are
a great way to get what you want over time but if you extend your time-period
it's going to cost you extra. It is only fair & reasonable.Thank you for
understanding.
Payment
Please remit
payment by Cashiers check or money order. Personal checks can be held up to two
weeks for clearence before shipping and item
